Swerve Modules

There are a wide range of swerve modules out there, but it is best to stick to the most widely used and most trusted. We recommend you stick to these two vendors and use their latest versions. It is important for the coding step, to keep it simple, to use only Kraken x60 motor versions of the swerve modules.

Differences Between Configurations

Standard Configuration

  • Design: Traditional layout with standard component arrangement.

  • Advantages: Easy to assemble and maintain with widely available parts.

  • Usage: Suitable for most applications requiring stability and reliability.

Inverted Configuration

  • Design: Components are mounted upside down compared to the standard design.

  • Advantages: Lower center of gravity for improved stability and agility.

  • Usage: Ideal for high-performance requirements and competitive robotics.

Thin Configuration

  • Design: Slimmer profile for space-constrained applications.

  • Advantages: Allows for more compact designs and flexibility in component placement.

  • Usage: Useful in robots where weight and space savings are critical.
